Nearly a year ago, I had someone in the United States military threaten to drone me to death for my anti-censorship stance. He called me a “fucking lunatic.” Now I’m told that I’m being “pretty fucking sexist.” This is the unhinged moral authority in action. They preach love, but project hatred.
I’m done extending politeness to the unhinged moral authoritarians who do not deserve our patience. (I’m sure I’ve become insufferable to some of you for refusing to shut up. I am currently incapable of shutting up. I have been called a fucking idiot, a fucking lunatic, a stupid fuck, and, currently, a sexist. Look, I get it. It’s not fun seeing someone engage in these issues on social media. I was a lot less insufferable years ago when I only posted pics of sunsets and dogs. For now, those days are over.)
Why waste my time on the unhinged moral authoritarian? Well, for one, I don’t particularly like being called names. I especially don’t like being threatened. So, I’d like to defend myself against baseless, meaningless, and absurd accusations. Sure, I could let it be. But we can’t afford to take the high road anymore when it comes to people as emotionally disfigured and morally repulsive as this. Secondly, the number of direct messages I receive in support of some of my more “controversial” posts sometimes outweigh the amount of “likes” said posts receive. I believe…
